Our Year 9 and 10 students were encouraged to hunker down and get in touch with their creativity during the recent Covid-19 enforced break from school . Some students wanted to make work which was personal to themselves , others thought about the Covid crisis and tried to invent something which would be of great benefit to someone who might be isolating and lonely . Either way , we hope you enjoy this online exhibition . . . .

Our lovely international student , Misa is going home at the end of Term 3 and has been working hard to complete her Art External Assessment before she goes . That's a phenomenal effort Misa . Well Done you !
Our Year 9 have just completed their Term 3 kete which combined Art with English . Term 3 is all about Speeches so to accompany the subjects that the students spoke about , they also produced an Intaglio print . See if you can guess what their speeches were about . . . Or just enjoy the art work !

During the busy and exciting Year 8 Open Day , the students from our local Junior schools managed to spend 45 productive minutes in the Art Room . They looked at Pasifika , Maori sleeve designs , Celtic knots , All Blacks and fluffy kittens . Check out these prints and well done Kobe , JCyber Ninja (students were invited to give themselves a new name for the lesson) Manoah , Eruwera , Saxon , Ora , Austin and Jasper . Great mahi !
We challenged the Year 10 (School of Creative Arts) students to create a piece of work that explored the beginning of earth, how it will all end and key moments in between . Easy !

Right at the back end of the last term , the Year 9 kete class has been looking at Cubist Still Life paintings and coming up with their own . The emphasis was on mixing colour , layering and working back into the image . Jolly good effort from a lot of tired students !
