Here we go . . . . The Year 10 Art class have been looking at the earth beneath their feet and exploring the concept of Tūrangawaewae ( the place to which we are connected ), Kaitiatanga ( guardianship and protection ) and whakataukī (poetic expression ). And they looked at maps and made Press Prints and did some painting and put it all together . . .

Mr Paymani's roopu are just finishing off their Year 9 rotation . Those that had a little extra time have made art work about superheroes . We decided that Superheroes do exist in real life and that they mostly take the form of mums , dads and grand parents . But we also wanted to acknowledge that they have or had dreams too . . .
William is one of our star Year 11 students and he loves to paint . So that's what he does . Paints ! And he uses a lot of paint .
Our wonderful Year 13 artist, Lauren is racing ahead with her externals ( 3 big A 1 sized boards ) . You can probably work out what the theme is but check out the beautiful use of colour and mark making . Here's a taster for you . . .
Mr Wickham's Year 9 Roopu are getting into some printmaking . They started by looking at Tapa design and then some contemporary art courtesy of John Pule and then came up with symbols that represent their past , present and future . And this is what that looks like . . .
